LoyaltyForge Privacy Policy

LoyaltyForge is a Shopify app published by MyDeveloper. It lets merchants run a loyalty program: points, VIP tiers, referrals and rewards. For customers of a store, the merchant is the data controller and LoyaltyForge processes data on the merchant's behalf.

Data we process

• Merchants: store domain, store name, contact email, currency, plan, and the access token Shopify issues to the app.
• Customers: Shopify customer ID, name and email address, received when they create an account or place an order.
• Loyalty activity: points earned and spent, order IDs and order subtotals that earned points, tier, rewards redeemed and their discount codes, referral code and referrals.
• Birthday: month and day, only if the customer enters it. It is also saved on the customer record in Shopify.
• Email preferences: whether the customer unsubscribed from loyalty emails.

Why we process it

We use this data only to run the merchant's loyalty program: crediting points for orders and other actions, creating rewards, showing customers their balance, and sending loyalty emails (welcome, tier upgrade, reward, birthday and expiry reminders). We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for our own advertising.

Service providers

• Shopify: platform, customer and order data, discount codes and store credit.
• Our hosting and email delivery providers: running the app and sending loyalty emails.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept while the app is installed. When Shopify sends a customer redaction request, we delete that customer's loyalty data. When a merchant uninstalls the app, we keep the data for 48 hours in case of reinstallation, then delete everything when Shopify sends the store redaction request.

Your rights

Customers should contact the store they bought from to access, correct or delete their data; the merchant receives a copy of everything LoyaltyForge holds when Shopify forwards a data request. Every loyalty email has an unsubscribe link.
